 |  Sony snaps up high-end headphone maker Audeze Headed for the Playstation Sony Interactive Entertainment has said that it will acquire the high-end headphone maker Audeze. For those not in the know, Audeze is based in California and its headphones, targeted at gamers and audio buffs. Its hardware is often priced into four-figures, and gets high marks from reviewers and users who are more often told that Beats headphones are the beast and are surprised what a decent pair of headphones sounds like. In a release announcing the news, the companies are quick to note that operating under the Sony banner won't mean platform exclusivity. Audeze will continue to produce gaming headphones for competitors, including -- presumably -- the Xbox.
