The graphic below sort of sums up the main M.2 drives in the current lineup. As you can see, the GAMMA is the top-performing drive and it comes in three capacities - 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB. The 2TB version is what we have today. It is a PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD and, although it will work on a PCIe Gen3 system, to get the maximum speed and performance, you need to use it on a PCIe Gen4 system. No worries - Gen4 capable motherboards are slowly making their way into the wild."
