Default Nokia wins $2.3 billion frame deals in China

One of the advantages of not being an American company

Finnish mobile telecom network maker Nokia announced on Wednesday that it had signed frame deals with China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom worth more than two billion euro.

The deals includes deliveries of 4G radio and fixed access equipment, IP routing and optical transport equipment and other services through next year, Nokia said.

The agreements will see Nokia deploy products and services from its end-to-end portfolio to the Chinese operators through to the end of 2019, which will enhance network speed, capacity and reliability across China, as well as pave the way for 5G with new network capabilities.

“We are excited to continue our close collaboration with these important customers in China, to drive new levels of network performance as they transition toward 5G”, said Mike Wang, president of Nokia Shanghai Bell. “Leveraging the breadth of our end-to-end network and services capabilities, we will work closely with China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom to deploy technologies that meet their specific business needs.”

Nokia recently inked another multibillion euro contract to help T-Mobile accelerate the deployment of its 5G network across the US.
