Default Mozzarella Foundation fires more of its Pandas

But don’t worry the senior management jobs are safe

Less than a week after naming Laura Chambers as interim CEO, Firefox's maker Mozilla said it is cutting about 60 jobs or five per cent of its red pandas.

The cuts are primarily in the product development organisation, but who needs to develop new products when you have managers?

In a statement, a big cheese in the Mozzarella foundation said the company was scaling back investment in some product areas to focus on areas that we feel it has the greatest chance of success.

"We intend to re-prioritize resources against products like Firefox Mobile, where there's a significant opportunity to grow and establish a better model for the industry."

Mozilla last cut a significant number of jobs four years ago at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. The not-for-profit company, which competes with Alphabet Google Chrome, Apple Safari, and Microsoft Edge, has been grappling with sliding market share of its Firefox web browser in recent years.

Obviously, the way to fix the problem is to remove those who can come up with and develop new products and their new management who can hold lots of brainstorming meetings before whiteboards with inspirational phrases written on them.
