Default Microsoft back to tricking users to use Bing

Claims if they follow they will save time and money

Software King of the World and former antitrust lag Microsoft might be in hot water again after it started getting a little aggressive in its methods to trick users into using its search engine Bing.

Vole has been caught warning Windows users that "Microsoft recommends different browser settings. Want to change them?"

The notification adds that you'll get "Search that gives you back time and money". And "fast and secure search results with Bing".

There's a Reddit thread where you'll see laments such as: "You're not the first to have this Microsoft Annoyance. Apparently, there are thousands in front of you."

To make matters worse you get the reminders even if you are using Edge and Bing set as your default search engine.

“I think the 'problem' is that not ALL of my browsers had Bing as the default search engine? Which is ridiculous because I never use Chrome or Firefox anyway. But after clicking the popup, it ludicrously opened up all my browsers", one user moaned.

There seems to be a trend here. Apple also tells users of its butt hurt when you open Microsoft Edge. But it is somewhat strange that Microsoft is doing this, particularly as it has lost expensive court cases over this matter.
