| Hon Hai loses Apple work to Pegatron – report Pegatron – a Taiwanese manufacturer spun off from Asustek – has grabbed an order for 15 million Apple iPhone 4Ss, according to a report. The Taiwan Economic News said that Hon Hai had an exclusive deal with Apple, citing unnamed sources. If the reports are true, it may be that Apple is seeking to distance itself from the Hon Hai-Foxconn axis, following reports about how it treats its work staff. The same report claims that Pegatron might also grab the manufacturing for the iPad 3 and the iPhone 5. From a shaky start, it appears that Pegatron is gaining strength because the same report also claimed that it's making Intel-based Ultrabooks for both Lenovo and Asus. http://news.techeye.net/hardware/hon...gatron--report |
