| Gainward Details Faster GeForce 6800 Ultra Graphics Cards Gainward Monday unveiled some additional details about its PowerPack! Ultra/2600 “Golden Sample” graphics cards-series – improved versions of the company’s graphics cards powered by the NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra graphics processor. Gainward’s CoolFX PowerPack! Ultra/2600 “Golden Sample” graphics cards feature overclocked versions of the GeForce 6800 Ultra chip recently unveiled by NVIDIA. The product is equipped with 256MB of GDDR3 memory and typical capabilities NVIDIA packs its products with. Gainward will offer two advanced graphics cards powered by the GeForce 6800 Ultra graphics processors – CoolFX PowerPack! Model Ultra/2600 “Golden Sample” with water-cooling by Innovatek and 450MHz/1200MHz or over clock-speeds as well as the SKU produced with enhanced air-cooling featuring 430MHz/1150MHz speeds. Gainward recommends 899 and 599 Euro price-points for the mention products. Gainward’s high-end offering will also come with special red lights to be installed in computer cards in the bundle. The GeForce 6-series of graphics processors will be available across entry-level, mainstream, performance-mainstream, high-end and, apparently, so-called ultra high-end graphics cards. The new series of NVIDIA’s graphics processors is the company’s second generation lineup of DirectX 9.0-compatible offerings that greatly leverage the feature-set of NVIDIA GeForce FX graphics chips and brings important additional caps like Shader Model 3.0 as well as great performance improvements over the previous generation hardware. So far NVIDIA has unveiled only a $499 offering called the GeForce 6800 Ultra that is based on a 400MHz chip that integrates 16-pixel pipelines, 6 vertex pipelines as well as equipped with 256MB of GDDR3 memory at 1100MHz.
