Default G.Skill hits DDR5-7000 CL40 with Trident Z5 series

DDR5-6666 CL40 is currently the fastest on Intel XMP 3.0 list

G.Skill has announced that its Trident Z5 2x16GB kit has managed to pass the Memtest stability test at DDR5-7000 frequency.

What makes it special is the fact that such frequencies were previously only seen in overclocking records and under LN2 cooling.

Using Samsung ICs, the Trident Z5 kit was running on Intel's Z690 chipset motherboard and was working at 3500MHz frequency and at CL40-40-40-76 latency. It managed to pass the Memtest stability test.

"We are seeing amazing overclocking potential of DDR5 memory on the latest 12th Gen Intel Core desktop processors and Intel Z690 chipset motherboards," says Tequila Huang, Corporate Vice President of G.SKILL International. "DDR5-7000 is an incredible milestone for us, and we will continue to work with our industry partners to develop ever-faster DDR5 memory for PC enthusiasts and overclockers."

G.Skill was also keen to note that its G.Skill DDR5-6666 CL40 memory kit is currently the fastest one on the Intel XMP 3.0 memory list.
