okidoki back with some more info Quote:
this would explain the chart and the numbers might be very real, but enabling AF kills performance of the HD 4890/4870X2 (and possibly HD 5870) |

Vantage numbers seem correct |
same as the Czech gamer site; the HAWX results are also correct, without AF ATI does quite well there; but enable it and you lose 50% performance. Looking forward to the HD 5870, fastest GPU and an impressive speed bump over the GTX 285, it even matches the 295 in some games/settings! The HD 5850 will be priced $100 cheaper than GTX 285 but deliver same performance... ouch |
Biased baby... but the cards look overal impressive, let the price wars begin... |
Ouch... so used to be AA killed ATI's performance... now it is AF?? Almost everyone uses 16AF, I wonder what is going on with this. Perhaps an early driver issue?? Edit: I spoke to soon, AF doesn't seem to be killing performance in that large performance chart, sounds more like a single game issue now. |
yes, in most games 4xAF comes for free with recent VGA cards, and small performance drop for 8/16xAF, only in HAWX it seems to be an issue for ATI:) |
