 |  Android O Is Touching Down to Earth with the Total Solar Eclipse Google has announced that the next major version of Android will be demonstrated on August 21, the same day of the total solar eclipse. Based on the filename for a video the company recently posted via Google+, the next release of Android will be given the name "Oreo." On August 21st, a solar eclipse will sweep across the entire United States for the first time since 1918.
