| AMD Montreal K11 is AMD's first octa core We had a chance to learn about AMD's late 2008 / early 2009 plans and among many we found a new name, Montreal. This is a successor of Shanghai and this is the first AMD’s server part that should bring DDR3 on AMD platform. This CPU will support socket G3 and 6MB L3 cache and it will want registered DDR3 only. The second iteration made of two Quad cores stiched together will be AMD’s first octa core. The new CPU will have total of 12 MB cache and will as well fit in socket G3. http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?op...86&Ite mid=35
