psu's in belgium we see plenty of psu reviews on the web and everywhere, but what cheap, good and silent psu's can be bought here in Belgium? |
which is better for standard p4 3.2 setup with two hdd and one radeon 9800xt and 1 gig ram + 1 dvd-cdrw, 4 casefans? zalman 400 watt at 100 euro enermax 430 watt at 110 euro LEVICOM 450Watt met dual fan at 70 euro antec 380 watt @92 euro chieftec420 watt @92.70 euro |
I know the levicom has alot of connections If the antec 380 is a truepower its the same as i have. I modded it so i have control over each rail. Good thing about the psu is all 3 rails are independent. Psu has no problems running 3.65, 5.5 and 12.9. |
I run an AMD XP 1800+ @ 2200MHZ, 2HD, 9800XT, and CD-RW combo, perfectly on a zalman 300W PSU. 400W should be more then enough. |
well, I ordered that levicom, just to check it out cheapo gets you anywhere :) 65 euro minus taxes means I pay 35 euro's for it |
Buying PSU is a big gamble, quality wise. You'll never know what you've until you install it. P4 requires more 12V juice than AXP. If you OC P4, I'd recommend getting the highest 500 and over. A nice feature to adjust 12, 3.3 and 5 v rails but the equation remains unchanged Voltage x Amps = watts. If the store allows you for exchange is the BEST price in my opinion. |
I got the Zalman 400 now, and I'm looking at the Tagan480. |

Component should run in 10% of there original specs. 3.3 > 3.63 5 > 5.5 12 > 13.2 Tho my infinity read voltages out lower irl there prolly higher but never over the voltages above. 5v is good when overclocking a radeon altho 5.3 would prolly give me the exat same result. High 12V line , i dont really know what the nf˛ uses the 12v for. High 3.3 line is still for my 8rda that ran the Vdimm of that rail. Going up 2v gave me some extra fsb. |
HD's have a much bigger failrate if voltages go differ more then 3% or so |
Yea i dont see a point in a high 12v line and that was with the hdd in the back of my mind but piotke asured me as his friend Saaya has run his over ~13.4V. where do u get this 3% from? |
Where did you buy that levicom for 70 €? |

No it seems i mistaked u for Teus :) Quote:

my cheap pc case (second pc) + power supply for 40€ does quite well :) 3.3V = 3.31V 5V = 4.95V 12V=12.6~12.9V dunno if that gives me probs. My other cheap case + 350W power supply for 50€ isn't that bad either. AMD Athlon 64 3000+ , 2HD , 1casefan , 2CDwriters , floppy , woofers .... 3.3V = 3.312V 5V = 4.84V 12V = 11.9V But those cheap power supply's don't have much connectors , obvious for such price :) |
calantak , can you post some information about that levicom when it arrives :) Where did you buy that levicom because i am gonna buy also a psu in a few weeks. |
@ 187(V)URD@: http://www.prijswatch.be/prod.php?pg=toon&pid=1710 Edit: Net voor 47 euro een 550w QTEC besteld... 2 eur verzendkosten :o www.pcboulevard.com |
Qtec is awfull! I havnt heard one good thing about it. If u value my advise a little bit cancel your order and order a decent psu. Or u could try... |
mhh langer leveringstermijn staat er . Well most of the time i buy my hardware HERE they have got a good choice if you ask me , but still don't know what power supply i want. |
levicom was directly available at tones.I'll use it on a p4 rig in june |

yup, same here. I don't have mine as long as Richbastard but there's a lot of hardware hooked up atm and it keeps it's rails very well. The 12 and 3.3 V rails never drop below spec and the 5V rail only once dropped below 4.9 and usually ranges arround 4.95V |
I hope u guys are right Does the 550W have sensewires and does it run hot? |
2*no |
my q-tec 550 sucked, and apparently there are two versions, q-tec550 and 550 PFC, mine did not say pfc and it sucked, pfc version should be more stable and costs the same, I also found it to be a very noisy psu :grum: |
Aah yes, it's indeed noisy, BUT they're nevertheless equipped with highquality fqns. Mine have been working at 5V for 18months, and they're absolutely noiseless (only fans in via epia system) and don't suffer from the too low operating voltage. In contrary to expensive Papst fans they don't start to 'purr' after a few months running below minimal recommended operating voltage (7V). |
I had that happen to a coolink fan when running @ low voltage :-/ |
550W for a epia? just how many hdd do u have? |
The Qtec 550W was the only regular PSU i had at the time i bought the epia system... and it was the most silent one too (with fans running at 5V), so it seemed like a logical choice. : ) Actually, the 550W qtec had no problems powering the epia system (~75W) fanless. |
calantak how is that levicom psu ? |
haven't used it yet :) it's meant for implementation in future rig, and that one needs a socket 939 |
by the time the S939 comes out, your levicom will have rusted in its place :p |
probably, and the sp94 besides it too :) |
the antec or enermax would probably be most reiable, zalman will be quietest/coolest my friend had the sonata version of the 380w with only one fan, and ir runs fien with axp 3400+, 98pro, gig ram, cdrw, dvdrw, and 5 hds (maxtor 80g with os, 2x80g st7200.7 ATA, 2x st7200.7 SATA in raid) he only had that crazy hd setup to test raid performance, but it worked perfectly on the antec |
levicom 450 watt psu installed. 2250 mhz @ 1.70 Vcore load : +12v 12.60 v (!) +5v : 4.70... hmmm... |
bit low 5v line |
are there adjustment pots inside? |
Well. I think you are all overrating the hw consumption. Currently, my main rig has a Superflower 370w psu. Nf7-s 2500+ 2x 512 corsair pc3200 raptor 36gb 10000 rpm 2x 80gb maxtor 7200rpm 8mb 16x DVD 52x cdrw 8x dvdrw r9800pro gbit nic 10/100 nic gametheater XP 5x papst 80mm +12v: 12.07 +5v: 5.13 |
keep in mind: are the PSU's with Active or Passive PFC? it's a whole world of difference, an aopen 300W PSU with active PFC powers my entire nforce˛ setup |
setting my vcore to 1.825 makes the pc unbootable ... it falls out when it enters windows, and the psu needs to be unplugged for the pc to reboot :( |
