Dual XP Motherboard

I've got 2 XP2200+ lying here and was wondering that kind of mobo would be qualified to handle both :)

was looking into the MSI K7D-MASTER-L (priced around €200)

any other alternatives?

Krewten® 5th January 2004 14:53

Verry good mb , I use one in my little fileserver :)

kipni 5th January 2004 14:55

what is the advantage of an mp mobo with two processors?

jmke 5th January 2004 15:02

faster multi-tasking.
no advantage in "current" games.

kipni 5th January 2004 15:10

ok thx
and also the fact that you can run two consoles of folding:^D

64-bit PCI slots, and games do have an (veeery little) advantage, windows running in the background won't slow it down as much anymore.

It's really too bad nVidia or via never came up with a good dual AMD chipset. the AMD chipset is just too flawed.

jmke 5th January 2004 15:25

flawed in what ways?

Krewten® 5th January 2004 15:42

Slow memory bandwith...

Gaming on a dually doesn't go better , the agp is slow, in most game benches duals suck :p

jmke 5th January 2004 15:49

no problem, not the main purpose of the machne :)

Vulk 5th January 2004 15:52

Main purpose=folding?
