computersmsa 6th October 2005 16:19

Sorry all :(

These stepping are not fine !
2.7-2.8 GHz stable @ 1.5-1.65V ... not more ! (Water)
Good for price but not good for Opteron 144 !

I hope that the next CPU are more good and AMD do not stop good Opteron 144 and 146 !

Not luck :(

187(V)URD@ 6th October 2005 16:20

try stock volts first, they don't like high volts.

agent #2 6th October 2005 16:29

Stupid trains are on strike to, else I would have been home by noon. :bash:

jmke 6th October 2005 16:31

let's hope they don't hit a home-run

koosjebram 6th October 2005 17:19

Did you start from scratch or just put it in your mobo with previous settings?????:D
Maybe it needs to be burnt in a little.
Still..good value for money...

computersmsa 6th October 2005 17:26

I will test little more in the evening ...
More the moment -> Sleep and eating :D

koosjebram 6th October 2005 17:31

Maybe let prime run a couple of hours in the meantime.....
b.t.w:sleep??? thought you were in the same timezone as me:^D

computersmsa 6th October 2005 18:03

Yes but I have work hard for make all shipment today :D
I'm dead :(

koosjebram 6th October 2005 18:05

I was just joking.
All your work is much appreciated

187(V)URD@ 6th October 2005 19:49

rety this :

I didn't mess around with the stock cooling and stuck it straight under my Prommie. I had some major headaches as this is the first time I've needed to use dividers to achieve my maximum overclock, but after checking up on one of eva's divider guides I got it running nicely. Changing Max Async Latency to '9' made a world of difference.

computersmsa 6th October 2005 19:50

Code:

Opteron 144 CABGE 0536 VPAW
DFI nF4 Ultra-D 702-2BTA
Puit Cooling -> Full = ~ 35°C
Max Stable -> 2729 MHz @ 1.49V

koosjebram 6th October 2005 20:24

Maybe this is it or maybe there is some light tweaking to be done.
I will test tomorrow on msi neo platty if everything comes along smoothly with relatively cheap mem=almost failsafe.
I've read the xtreme forums threads again and not everebody got high speeds on their first couple of runs.....
Still great deal!

187(V)URD@ 6th October 2005 20:41

can you run program called: MaxTcase v1.03 and post results in here ?

asdf 7th October 2005 09:02

do you know anything about the 146? i can't find one in germany, so maybe you are my last chance. :ws:

computersmsa 7th October 2005 12:18

Hi,

You can order, I receive them in the week of 17 October :)

computersmsa 7th October 2005 13:19

Code:

Opteron 144 CABGE 0536 VPAW
DFI nF4 Ultra-D 702-2BTA
WC -> Full = ~ 40°C
Max Stable -> 2901 MHz @ 1.73V (mais peut mieux :D)

http://users.skynet.be/pt1t/144/2901_32M.PNG

A friend in Water ! This step love Vcore :)
:hello:

asdf 7th October 2005 13:39

A prime large test would be great. :)
1.73V seems to be freaking much...

jort 7th October 2005 15:08

SuperPi 32M is allready a good stability testing program:)

asdf 7th October 2005 15:11

You can colck ~100MHz higher for SuperPi stability than for Prime95 stability. ;)

What's really strange - 25°C idle on 1.73V? What kind of watercooling is it - ice water? :D

187(V)URD@ 7th October 2005 15:34

Computersmsa.

Listen up:

Maybe max Async Latency and Read Preamble time are chocking your OC.

Set it to 8 or 9 !!
If that don't work try async at auto and preamble to 7ns

And post cpu-z + a64 tweaker.

jort 7th October 2005 15:40

or put your memory as low as possible, if i am testing my cpu i set it at 100 mhz devider.

187(V)URD@ 7th October 2005 17:11

Seems he tested at preamble 5ns :grum: (xtrmsystms)

agent #2 7th October 2005 19:54

Package received.
Stepping is the same as his friend.
Will try to test it tomorrow.

That's nor true ;)
In Water with normal Vcore on A64 90nm ... the diff between SPI 32M and Prime 95 or OCCt for few hours at few MHz (minder than 10 MHz).
