problem

when I start some games my screen goes pitchblack and after a few second the computer reboots. It usually only happens with older games, although I've the newest patches installed. What can I do?

config: Athlon 2800+, radeon 9600, windows XP, SP1&2 and the newest drivers installed

sounds like a PSU problem.

PSU = power supply

I don't think it's the power suply because i can run new games, like HL2 for hours without any problems, but when i start an older game the screen goes black and the systemreboots

Driver issue I think. What catalyst version are you using ?

what game are you using, can you give an example?

might wanne post your problem info with game & drivers used at these forums which are specialised in ATI support

some older games crash on startup like : Medieval TW, Startopia, dungeonkeerper 2, .....
