Mandrake 10.0 Linux "n00bs" who want to give a prebuild linux distro a try, i'd highly recommend Mandrake 10.0. It's the first (prebuild) distro by my knowledge that uses the new 2.6.x kernel, which is faster and supports more HW nativly (sata by example). I think i'll give it a try myself. :) |
If Mplayer has the same subtitle quality as Media Player Classic, I will be using it for my HTPC. |
Mplayer supports dozens of options to adjust subtitle font/size/position/transparancy, and it offers support for more types than mediaplayer. In which way is it inferiour? |

on what hardware are you gonna test it ? |
Not sure yet. Probably first on my NF2 + 2gig barton next week. |
Will you be using a Radeon graphic's card with that setup? A lot of people (including myself) have problems getting their radeon to work in mandrake 10.0 when combined with a n-force2 chipset. |
Mandrake is good, if you want to begin ;) |
Did you install it yet? I'd love to hear some feadback. |
I installed Mandrake 9.2 on my laptop. It was really great, now one of these i'll be installing 10 on my laptop. But i'm sure that it will be great too. |
Mandrake 9.2 wasn't all that great. It didn't convince me to replace windoze with it. Mandy 10 did that. Greetz |
