yes; test it out, 3DMark2001SE

The Senile Doctor 7th January 2005 12:37

I did quick runs, coz still got lots of work to do :(
adata 2*512/winchester 3000+/msi neo2/ocz 520/9800pro
untweaked, just comparative runs

292*9 1.5v, 1:1 cas 3 3-3-10 2t htt3x : 18400.
275*9 1.5v 1:1 cas 2.5 3-3-10 1t htt3x : 18358.
292*9 1.5v, 5:4 cas 2.5 3-3-10 1t htt3x : 18480.

hmm, all about the same, minimal differences
292*9 1:1 has 150mhz more cpupower which 275*9 catches up nearly due to its 1t and maybe cas 2.5 a little bit too
292*9 with 5:4 beats them all by minimal margin...

in my humble opinion for gaming experience they are all about identical...

jmke 7th January 2005 12:44

the 292*9 5:4 will give best results in games in my humble opinion because of higher memory bandwidth

The Senile Doctor 7th January 2005 12:47

so I should try to get the 292*9 with best possible stable 5:4 timings.
or 8*330 htt (same speed) and 5:4 ram which would be at 265, that I can run at cas 2.5 3-3-10 with 1t command...

The Senile Doctor 7th January 2005 13:13

ok,
8*330@1.5v works flawlessly at 5:4, ram goes 265 then at 1t cas 2.5 3-3-10, and that gives 18650, and 3*htt is about 1000 where it's supposed to be :)

nice setup for a 150 euro cpu...anyu more possible improvements to make? (which don't include more moneyspending)

and now off to work!!!!!

windwithme 8th January 2005 06:38
