Lots of toys good luck ;-)

jmke 21st June 2007 18:42

Just did a small test

C2D @2.4 - 3DMark2001SE: 91.1FPS - 3D03: 39.9FPS (stock GPU clocks)
C2D @2.8 - 3DMark2001SE: 91.1FPS - 3D03: 39.9FPS (stock GPU clocks)

:-/

Gamer 21st June 2007 19:30

Seems like the card is already to slow for that cpu :)

Troman, can you do the same with that AMD ?

same stuf...

Teemto 22nd June 2007 07:33

Picture time :
I'm blue....

Yep that's me

Unwrapping

My baby

Wife's machine :naughty:

Teemto 24th June 2007 17:27

First tests :
System A64 275x10 MEM at 275 2,5/4/4/8/1T
BTW. Running at 290x10 makes no difference.

Card at 500/750 3D01SE : 139,9fps
Card at 640/770 3D01SE : 161,3fps
http://service.futuremark.com/orb/pr...jectId=9219374

This is the highest I can go using stock cooling 660/770 gives a crash
Realy disappointed by the memory.

Waiting for the new cooler to arrive...:o

jmke 24th June 2007 17:37

project code invalid, you need to set the "publish" mark and then use that link:)

Massman 24th June 2007 18:26

Wow, your memory sucks :s

jmke 24th June 2007 18:30

try only memory overclocking, leave GPU at stock speed, 770 is too low in my humble opinion:)

Massman 24th June 2007 18:31

What exactly happens when overclocking the memory past 770?

piotke 24th June 2007 18:43

It goes faster....

;-)

jmke 24th June 2007 18:51

0.5FPS per 100Mhz:p

Teemto 25th June 2007 13:22

I can't OC the mem past 770 as with rivatuner he won't pass the test.
Is there a way to force this, without testing?

jmke 25th June 2007 13:28

Rivatuner's buld in test is not 100% accurate, but does give you an idea of how high it will go; I used Powerstrip and Realtime HDR (for stress test) to push memory higher than Rivatuner allowed

just disable the damn test in power user ;)

Teemto 27th June 2007 17:38

http://users.telenet.be/Teemto/OC/Be...2020070627.JPG

Card at 680/820 3D01SE : 172,2fps :)

Higher mem results in artifacts. Still waiting for new cooler to arrive.

For some reason my 3DMark03 results are not visible in the ORB, I get the invalid message  Any help?

jmke 27th June 2007 17:40

invalid message you try to link to it? Did you publish the result?

Teemto 27th June 2007 17:50

As soon as I wan to go to the online result browser after running the test, I get the message.

jmke 27th June 2007 17:55

post a screenie? what browser is set as default? IE?

Gamer 27th June 2007 18:01

lower your PCI-e speed, got the same problem :)

Teemto 27th June 2007 19:07

I get this message in the analysis and comparisons tab :

Your 3DMark03 score seems to be invalid, and unfortunately the Result Analyzer cannot be displayed for this result.

Result details tab and configuration tab work however.

PCI-E is running at 100MHz which is default so I don't see why I would need to lower it?

jmke 27th June 2007 19:20

your hitting the "submit online" button and then you get "3DMark03 score invalid" ?

Teemto 28th June 2007 00:07

yep

jmke 28th June 2007 00:11

is this only at overclocked speeds? also at default? give as much detail as possible, then we can get in contact with FM:)

Teemto 28th June 2007 05:59

I use Win XP MCE with IE6.
It's also at default speeds.

jmke 28th June 2007 09:07

I'm not sure MCE is supported

Teemto 28th June 2007 09:27

MCE is apparently supported in 3DMark01SE but not in 3DMark03, I find that hard to believe.

Massman 28th June 2007 10:37

MCE = xp + media center shell. It should be 100% supported

Teemto 28th June 2007 23:46

New cooler arrived today (thanks Dave).
Sadly my wife took my digital camera with her on her business trip to Greece and of course according to Murphy my other dig. camera decided to die today  So no pictures (use your imagination instead).

The heatsink is a Thermalright HR-03 rev A. Installation was a breeze. I'm used to the Zalman products but this one is equally well designed.
Only disadvantage is that 2 of the 4 mem chips have smaller RAM sinks due to the fact that the heatpipes pass directly over them.

I did notice - when removing the original cooler - that an excessive amount of thermal paste had been applied:no: . A nice bath of isopropyl alcohol took care of that (while using a different type of alcohol for yours truly|D ).

Cooler installed, card plugged in, it's testing time.
First a test without the recommended 92mm fan.
With passive cooling idle temp at default clock speeds is 53°C. With the original Zotac cooler it was 51°C. Not bad.
When using a 120mm ex-Scythe Ninja fan (49,58CFM) temps dropped back to 38°C.:woot:
If the card survives untill the end of august, it'll become part of my media center PC.

Final fan will be a PAPST 4118N/6XMV 120mm 152,9CFM 60dBA 48V fan or a PAPST 6248N 172mm 241CFM 55dBA 48V fan:ws: .
But I'm still looking for a 48V Power supply. At the moment I've only got one of 22V

After that it'll be volt modding time.
Hopefully some pics on sunday evening. Now it's dodo time ... some of us have a job to go to in the morning...

Thermalright HR-03 rev A on this 7300GT? crazy:)

What about the HR-03 Plus? :)

Teemto 29th June 2007 08:59

According to their site it's only compatible with the 8800GTX and GTS models.

geoffrey 29th June 2007 09:51

I guess someone has some modding to do then

Teemto 29th June 2007 10:24

http://www.legionhardware.com/pic.ph...s/Image_03.jpg

I'm not sure it'll fit. As you can see the part which comes in contact with the core is much wider. It could be that it'll block the mounting holes.

wutske 29th June 2007 12:33

if it blocks the mounting holes you could still mount it at an angle (so the sides of the base run parallel to the core's diagonals :) ). Probably needs some bending and twisting so it won't touch the motherboard.

Indeed :(

Teemto 30th June 2007 08:44

Core and memory won\'t go above 680/820.
Core seems to automatically scale back when above 680.
Mem gives artifacts when going above 820.

Don\'t know if a V-mod will help if I\'m already having problems at 820Mhz on the mem.
