yes i do , u say there is no proformens gain from faster memory .
well this come becaus the old GDDR3 card are well scaled atm , when u oc the core u will see if u get that lat bit of mem speed it will help .
that why no need for GDDR4 , the core will scale with the mem but like in the old times ;)

Met een beetje tweaken kan die unit best wel nog wat load aan, zelfs nu nog :).

Was dat ten tijde van de K6/2's? (M remembers advertisement K6 @ 1G)

geoffrey 6th September 2007 19:18

running LN2 is totally different then a peltier setup, not because the cooling technique is totally different but also because of the condensation problems that occur beneath ambient temps. Condensation is really creazy when using liquid nitrogen!

jmke 6th September 2007 19:21

we haven't mentioned any Peltiers units yet afaik:)

geoffrey 6th September 2007 19:22

you had what back then? (picture picture picture picture picture picture picture :D)

u get more condens when u play with tec , Lnē is harder so isolate ;) .
condens just gets with Lnē when the pot is empty /or to full or heating up .
tec swings between sub en normal temps .

geoffrey 6th September 2007 19:32

Ok, with low-end TEC setup's, not with those I'm used too :D

Pictures Pictures Pictures Pictures ;-D

jmke 6th September 2007 19:47

Digicams were almost none existent then, I had a 1.3Mpixel unit which was slow as molasses :p

Massman 6th September 2007 19:56

Molasses - is a thick syrup by-product from the processing of the sugarcane or sugar beet into sugar. (In some parts of the U.S., "molasses" also refers to sorghum syrup.) The word molasses comes from the Portuguese word melaka, which is in turn derived from the Greek mellashoney. The quality of molasses depends on the maturity of the sugar cane or beet, the amount of sugar extracted, and the method of extraction.

The 86GE died :(. It seems like one of the memory chips which crapped out as the card still boots, but I get artifacts all over the screen.

geoffrey 4th November 2007 13:35

Desolder chip with a heating gun :D

Massman 4th November 2007 13:36

If you have such a heating gun and time, knock yourself out. I'm even willing to drop the card at your place ;)

thorgal 4th November 2007 14:50

Nice ones lads. You know I would've liked to be there, but my son was in the hospital this week. Good luck for the rest of the day !

piotke 4th November 2007 15:05

Nice results so far.

I had to choose between this and a little special party with some weird people, and I choose the last.
Ow, and I had a very cool taxi today !
