OC project + whiskey

I drank half a bottle of whisjey
please don't hate me for it :)

I have received MrIcee's KX7-333R voltmodded with variable resistance.. cost me 89€ + 27€ douane tax
waiting for 2nd hand XP2200+ which should arrive any day soon

I want to overclock to the max of the is XP chip
I already have duron's XMS3200 which should suffice for 200FSB @ max timings, and higher :)

freon / phase cooling is too expensive, so the other alternative is watercooling

what watercooling block do you recommend
remember I DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE SOUND
edit: tjis sounds dumb, I mean, can I increase the cooling by adding my 80mm delta (6000+rpm) ?

the system is located @ a seperate room where I do not hear the system running

what would be the best combo , waterblock/pelt/reservoir/pump?

I know I don't post topics alot asking question, but this I've never done.. so bear with me.. will report back with more info

whiskey is having weird effetc on tying skillz

hmmmm
if I get that money finally back from Germany, I could afford a WC too :)
but sound level DOES matter here, as our PC room is located next to our bedrooms :/

jmke 28th December 2002 11:28

forgot to mention : belgian shops ? :)

Bosw8er 28th December 2002 11:33

Do you consider the swiftech-pelt combo ? I would go that way if you don't care about the noise.
http://www.cluboc.net/reviews/heatsi...462t/page4.htm
Gives you the most bang 4 the buck and it will be the installed faster then WC.

I know what you mean about that ½ bottle whisky. I can't post either if i haven't drunk one too.

belgian shops = big no-no for H²O shopping.

jmke 28th December 2002 11:56

serious ofwa ?

damn.. loveno has lots of WC goodies? or am I mistaken?

RichBa5tard 28th December 2002 12:09

Limited choice & high prices.

Heil! :^)

jmke 28th December 2002 12:16

uhm...

is there a review from this.. anywhere?

what waterblock do you use ?

jmke 28th December 2002 12:21

http://www.overclocking.be/?page=sho...c38d7d3edd3970

with TEC kit included ~105€

doable ?

Swiftech MCW462B Sockelkühler:
.de: 74€
.be: 73€

:)

TeuS 28th December 2002 12:46

ROFL
Crash tests were conducted by repeatedly (3 times) dropping a case equipped with an MC462 heatsink from the roof of a second story building. The heatsink remained securely attached to the processor, and the processor didn't suffer any damage.

crash test 1
crash test 2

that air cooled pelt could be a solution :super:
80-120mm adapter and my 120mm fan will make an effective, less expensive solution :)

where is it available?

jmke 28th December 2002 12:55

Eheim waterpump 1250 1200 l/h : 71€
Swiftech MCW462-BT (AMD) : 105€
HW Labs Black Ice II : 98€
2m tubing: 15€ ? Loveno don't have that apparantly

total: 289€
Watercooling + Pelt

Or..

Innovatek innovaSET 2 for 257€
http://www.3dxtreme.org/innovatekp3.shtml

but I think the Swiftech solution will cool ALOT better

@Bosw8er: air has it's limit and the aircooled pelt is only "ok" working @ idle :)

I want 40°C max load temps with a 2.0v vcore

RichBa5tard 28th December 2002 14:15

I've got the king size version of the d-tek spir@l. Bad *** boy, one of the best commercially available waterblocks, but expensive and there was a 6 month queue one year ago.

The swiftech you mentioned is about to be replaced with a newer version wich is supposed to be 25% better. I wouldn't buy it...

Germany has some über watercooling stuff, but most of the advertising we see is from US companies (dangerden, swiftech): more expensive (import), but not necessarely better.

Reviews: check google.

Black Ice II:
.be: 98
.de: 70

The radiator I mentioned is far better than the Black ice II, and cheaper.

edit:
XP2400+ @ 2550Mhz & 2V: 28°C :p

http://www.overclockers.com/articles673/

It does perform better but it's more for quiet-pc-building types like myself ... not for noisy-power-loving types.

RichBa5tard 28th December 2002 15:16

Still, I don't understand why one wants to buy expensive & overrated American watercoolingproducts, when you can get (better?) performing waterblocks in .de for half the price.

Bosw8er 28th December 2002 16:02

Do not misunderstand: Innovatek has been my favourite for a long time (no noise solution + performant). I would choose this one in stead of a swiftech solution.
But i cannot find a shop nearby selling their kits.

Why don't you post where you find all those nice things in germany ...

Dual heat transformer = BEST !

RichBa5tard 29th December 2002 04:05

jmke 29th December 2002 04:07

The Senile Doctor 29th December 2002 09:29

PlayboY 29th December 2002 11:17

Ik heb ook een klein offtopic vraagje :

CosH Computersysteme
c/o Auto-Kaiser KG

Transportation Mode:
By Car >> Fastest (time)
Total distance: 626.2 km
Travelling time: 05h 42
Average speed: 109 km/h

so in short: it will cost ~30€ for diesel :)

TerAngreal 29th December 2002 13:42

bedrijfsdiesel ? :)

(wutever, i'm willing to pay sum)

jmke 29th December 2002 14:01

I can fill her up @the border, drive 400km and try to get back on the same diesel, but I'm afraid 800km is gonna be really close to the limit

max I've riden so far is 775km on 1 tank :)

TerAngreal 29th December 2002 14:05

@TA: http://www.funcomputer.de/default.ph...&a rtnr=09629

jmke 29th December 2002 14:20

MAX. Dus geen zorgen ;)

ps: men Opel Astra max cruise speed = 140 :p
