its just logic , think about it , you remove more surface area if your saw isn't thinner

make sure u use a fresh layer of AS or wathever, otherwise the temps won't be compareable.

idd, bit actually I'm only sure if it's cooled passive, but when it's cooled with a fan you don't know how the air will go trough the heatsink so maybe it cools better, or maybe it cools worse, but when you see the zalman northbridge heatsinks, i think it wil cool beter.

i think to, i'm in the middle now, didn't toght it would be that hard cause the fins move to mush by the saw :)

BIOS temp is neither idle or load.. so...

so what ?

temps made a difrence :)

you can compare IDLE temps or LOAD temps; but temps in between are random.. it's like starting Prime95 and after 3min reading the load temp. Then remove the fan on the HSF and read the load temp after 10 seconds.. ooh look.. the temp difference is almost none existant.

if you want to compare temps you need to do with the PC in the same state, either idle in windows or under load using Prime95/CPUBurn

the temps in the BIOS however are neither load or idle, thereby using them as the only means of deciding if action A or B had any effect is not enough :)
