Having fun with QX9650.

Got it today, had to pay €152 taxes on it :(

But, it seems like it's a great clocker.
Vcore 1.5v in bios, 1.47v in cpu-z and I can do 3D06 (not finished yet).
Seems like we have a winner.
L739 745 is on the core (I think, forgot to look :p).

I needed my moded prometeia to get these scores with a QX6850.

Pics and results later.

Can someone confirm this is a good overclock on air ?

jmke 1st April 2008 19:56

sure is, 4Ghz+ on air, quad cores, impressive:)

Gamer 1st April 2008 20:14

1 Attachment(s)
air cooled PI, non tweaked, ram 1/1 5-5-5-15

I sure looks like a winner :woot:

jmke 1st April 2008 20:25

you have beaten Anandtech's record who did 4.6 with WATER cooling! When will we see the OC article:D

Gamer 1st April 2008 20:36

hehe, in due time.
Trying to get 9,99" here on air, don't know if I'm going to make it :)

Kougar 2nd April 2008 06:46

Be sure to let us know if you notice any degradation with that chip... not even I would pump 1.528v into a 45nm chip, let alone 1.528v after vdroop. ;)

Gamer 2nd April 2008 08:13

Can't hurt if you don't use it 24/7.

if you can afford a new one, you can fire as much voltage in it as you want

1.4V is a limit for poor people

People modify their boards not to get their Vcore drooping, while the droop is in fact saving the CPU from overshooting voltage. I would definitely try 1,53V in bios, with Vdroop not 'shorted' that is.

Competition is good :D Also for our hwbot team.

Only one thing really stops me for the moment and that is time. Same for reviews btw. It's no use buying expensive stuff that you can't get make time for to actually install it, let alone bench it or use it.

The Senile Doctor 4th May 2008 18:37

victim? I sure never was anybody's victim, I got on top quite a few times also :p
first one to 10.000 3dmarks2001, where's the time?

Massman 4th May 2008 21:05

Seems like you guys are talking prehistorical times here ... I know you, Calantak, only from oral history and myths :p :D

Are you ever going to join the fun again?

Pardons 9th May 2008 20:47

better for him to do not so, he wouldn't be able to follow the young breed...

The Senile Doctor 10th May 2008 03:30

don't think so. better to keep the myth alive than to return and be ko'ed first round

jmke 10th May 2008 10:34

if you put 1% of your energy in OC, which you use 100% for your job, you will fly to the top ranks in less than a week:)

Massman 10th May 2008 21:04

jmke 10th May 2008 21:41

Massman 10th May 2008 22:54

How good was he? :p

jmke 11th May 2008 01:05

Gamer 11th May 2008 08:26

Yep, he would have bought the QX9750 :)

Massman 11th May 2008 09:18

Nono, how good was he? (talking about the past :p)

piotke 11th May 2008 09:36

Massman 11th May 2008 09:54

Gamer, I forgot to send your memory kit ... :-/. I'll send it this tuesday, okay?

Gamer 11th May 2008 10:27

Not needed in the near future, DDR3 remember.
The team can use it for now.

QX9770 inbound too, only for a week.
