super PI - gaming ...

lucky sticks I guess :)

jmke 28th October 2004 17:04

no; not really, you just don't stress the memory hard enough, other reviews with TCCD Samsung also max out at 210-215 with CL2 2-2-5

try to run memtest86+ at those 220 timings:)

after memtest has begun running press

Jackpot!

here's some DDR600 @ 2.7v action for you!

got me a new A64 CG stepping which helped me push the FSB higher; and discovered that on S754 running 2 sticks limits your max FSB by quite a bit (275 does not pass :()

CL2.5 4-3-7 and a whole bunch of other settings straight from http://www.gskill.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=53

I'm going to see how I can take this, normally Memtest86+'s test #5 crapped even in the first Pass; not it keeps on going and going and going :)

nice, 512 stick too :super:

jmke 30th October 2004 00:21

here's my Mushkin PC3200 LVLII Special series BH-6 stick; look at the timings :)

jmke 30th October 2004 00:29

I think I'm feeding the ram 3.55-3.65v with the DDR Booster, the CM Realpower doesn't have the -5v rail which is needed for the LED display on the DDR booster

kristos 30th October 2004 12:41

some very nice clocks again at that voltage :)

I would not have expected your 300mhz 2.5-4-3-7 gskill to outperform your 270mhz 2-2-2-10 mushkin's though :wow:

you said on telenet that timings are not as important as they used to be. is this generally true or does this only apply to A64 (for now)?

jmke 30th October 2004 13:53

I said on Telenet that CAS latency is not that important, the others are still golden:) but that's mostly from my experience with P4

I'm still a n00b at A64:)

I need to get an OS reinstalled to bench in Windows

btw, the problem with GSkill has been found (I think) one of the sticks might be faulty, have to verify for sure today

jmke 30th October 2004 14:20

both sticks seem to Pass memtest86+ at rated speeds, individually, but when I put both in, they produce errors :(
