Default Choosing the right RAM (Nforce2 + Tbred B)

I've been a happy user of XMS3500 RAM for quite a while. In the days it cost me an arm and a leg (or more scecifically €270) for 2 matched pieces of 256 MB. Now I want to move on to new horizons.

I want 2x 512MB, but I wouldn't know what's best at all for an athlon XP cpu.

It's a tbred B 1800+ which is clocked ATM at 2.3 GHz (200 MHz FSB) my currect ram clocks nicely at 2-2-2-5, but 2-2-2-11 gives better performance. The mainboard I'm currently using is an ABIT AN7.

I want to pick something from http://tones.be/shop_producten.php?cat=122. Any insight would be welcomed!

if you are not going to overclock then any memory that does 2-2-2-5 @ 200MHz or better will do just fine.

for corsair it's those xl and xll or xxl or whatever (go check their site for details)

for ocz go for the vx, slightly cheaper then their el plat rev2's...

For my tbred-B that is a nice overclock. I haven't succeeded in bringing it far past 210 MHz FSB without loosing stability though.

I meant overclock the memory, my bad you would probably have a hard time finding pc2700/pc2100 memory from corsair or ocz anyway ^^

And what would be a more future proof buy if I were to consider upgrading to athlon64 platform (DFI Lanparty UltraD comes to mind, but no athlonFX, way to pricy for me). I'm never going to switch to the intel platform.

Madshrimps reviewed some rams previously and concluded that high performance RAM isn't it's money worth, but what if you can't scale up enough in the FSB to follow your CPU?

280Mhz 1:1 was ~3% faster then 280Mhz with dividers

So, is corsair PC3200 XLL the best choice for my rig, or should I go for one of the OCZ options?
