AMD XP Mobile overclocking

Recently I had a
XP2500+ M IQZFA 0349TPMW with a NF7 rev2.0 (steel bracket)

My XP maxed out @ 2600MHZ and mobo @ 245MHZ.

Now that mobo died recently and I got also a new proc.

My setup now is :

XP2600+ M IQYHA 0348XPMW
Abit nf7 rev2.0 (with plastic bracket :( )
2*256MB BH5

I got some troubles with ocing and i think my mobo is the ev0l one  .

It maxxes out @ 230-235mhz with modded bios wich is certainly not high.

I can up my clockspeed to 2800mhz in windows under 1.9V then i got a bluescreen.
BUt my Vcore fluctuates very hard, it isn't the psu because i had stable Vcore on my last nf7.
Example : bios 1.85V gives in windows 1.86 and drops to 1.808V :( .
EDIT : seems when I stress the cpu @ 100% my vcore stays 1.8V.

Sometimes when i boot on a high overclock(starting from 2.6ghz) some programs giving application error (0xxx000....) 'geheugenfout' or something.

Also when I first tested the cpu I booted on 200*13 and I had no problems. If I try that now my pc begins to beep and I have to clear CMOS.
Seems he doesn't like my 13 anymore :/.

My BH5 can go 240-245 on 2.9V (overvolts) so i don't think its my memory problem.

someone can give me some tips? :)

2.8ghz should be possible with better cooling no? :)

Don't know what to tell ya but here is mine; same mobo model

AXP-M 2600+ been running at 260X Ghz 217x12 after I tested the Transformer case. I have had used 3rd party bios and pushed it to 235 mhz. I found the performance is lacking with higher FSB. Vcore to run at 2.6 Ghz is 1.875, a bit high for my liking but CPU temp is decent 38C idle and 46 C load, 100% air cooling of course.

I DO use MOSFET heatsinks.

I got watercooling but i think my Vcore is killing me because it isn't stable.

I got watercooling (frigus engineering) so I don't want to change that since my temps are reasonable.
Maybe i can buy a nexxos but I doubt it will change something about my oc's.

24° roomtemp
36° idle
47° stressed with m&n

This on 2500MHZ.

And yes 2.8ghz seems to be possible, atleast yesterday :|.

I ran @2.8Ghz just for a minute @2 Volt.

If it is not stable I don't say it. What is the point in having something that runs only occasionally ;) Like owning a stallion only would run fast to the North but not other directions.:D

A WILLING processor is key ...... all other elements are secondary.

should get below 40°C temps for seeing an increase of OC.

47 is too high

"in the old days" I got an XP1600+ running at 1700Mhz with "normal" (temps=45-50) aircooling and 1800Mhz with "extreme" aircooling.(temps 38-40)

personnaly i wanted to bench @ 2.7GHZ to break my previous 3DK01 record (15.6K with my Ti4200).

I was hoping @ 245FSB and 2.7GHZ but since the fsb thingie didn't work I tried hard mhz :p.

Now I can boot from 2.7ghz but I get an error when I try to run 3DK01 (MFC error or smth).

I am now using bios 27 from abit, seems to be faster then D23-3D bios.

I am trying to find my sweet spot :p

Btw : I am now on 1.85-1.9V on 200*13 so mp 13 isn't a problem. (need to stress it tho).

EDIT : My temps are 36-40° when I do normal stuff on my pc and 42° when I game.

187(V)URD@ 2nd March 2005 15:57

just tested s&m on 2600mhz, went fine but vcore drops to 1.824 (bios 1.9V) :(

Also my system rebooted on his own saying : you got 59seconds to save your work and something about autorized/system.

You know the screen when you're shutting something down when windows needs it.

How come this happend ?

jmke 2nd March 2005 16:00

set vcore to 2v , try again;)

187(V)URD@ 2nd March 2005 16:15

2.7GHZ @ 1.968V(2.06V in bios) was no go , win32k.sys error .
