Good one, but I hate it. Why don't they use laptop technology in desktops like the centrino-stuff. It's fast, doens't use much energy and is easy to cool down.
It's expensive ok, but the price would go down if they would make it less exclusive.

There is only so many chip you can get from the center of a waffer where the highest yield factor chip can be produced. These are used for laptop. The price would be much higher if Intel and AMD will have to "throw away" instead of selling desktop chips.
