okay; wait, so if I mention "source: anandtech.com" I can also just copy their whole reviews and articles?

sorry Lazyman; that's no excuse, mentioning source and then copying the whole darn review is stil ripping off. This site is sponsored by companies who have a banner on the madshrimps.be site. With their money we buy gear so we can do reviews like this. If a site completely copies our content, than the visitor will not go to our site and that's not good for our site or our sponsors who paid for the hardware we test with.

jmke 8th March 2006 12:49

and they can speak english, otherwise they would not be able to translate the piece...

Sharpside 8th March 2006 14:05

Its sad to see people abuse other peoples work :(

Sidney 8th March 2006 15:52

I merely pointed out the source they printed; I 've always said it ought to be illiegal and not right to copy and use other's materials and design. I own a U.S. Patent; I know the feeling when others copy it. The worst is not able to do anything.

There were about 3 similar nstances that I know of in the last two years. All with Chinese website located in Mainland China and one in Korea.

The one in Korea was taken out within 24 hours. It is all about knowing where/how to reach to the site owner.

jmke 8th March 2006 16:06

I think they don't grasp the concept of "copyright"

Sidney 8th March 2006 16:13

They know; but they don't believe they need to.
Look at all the hardware gears being coped from one place to another. Heatsink design for one; and I am sure the 140mm fan will pop out from corner to corner in Asia.

jmke 8th March 2006 16:28

great mentality :-/

thanks for that mail btw; forwarded it to webmaster@overclocker.com.cn and webmaster@oc.cn and webmaster@oc.com.cn

I wish spambots have a great time harvesting these email and spamming them to death... (in case they don't remove the stolen content)

Detailed thing with link... GoGo!!
wat dus waarschijnlijk iets betekent als "Voor meer informatie volg de link... GoGo" :D:D

jmke 25th April 2006 23:04

that's an exception on the rule unfortunately... :/

creating such a "summary" is TOO Much, a small quote = okay. Taking over every detail on the which products were tested, how they evaluated and then including the results in a chart AND copying the summary effectively removes the need to visit the remote site as you already have all the info you need in that summary.

Parkoz and other Chinese websites are worse, they copy every single thing; every page and every image; as if it is "okay" to just ripp off an entire site.

That came from South Korea. Government in Korea will enforce the law should you contact them.

SuAside 26th April 2006 11:46

the price of success jmke :)

i'd be insulted if it was a western language, but hey, i dont think we've got many chinese & koreans here. ;)

jmke 26th April 2006 11:47

Lazyman? Windwithme... Zalman? :)

According to the Peoples' Daily Online, the Chinese government has passed new legislation regarding copyright on the internet. As well as increasing the penalties for online infringement and forcing ISPs to remove illegal content if given written notice, the law also bans "the production, import and supply of devices capable of evading or breaching technical measures of copyright protection". While everyone wants to see China improving its enforcement of IP rights, is this a step too far?

That came from Taiwan; a better control area.

Sidney 24th July 2007 19:32

Mainland China

from Korea.

jmke 24th July 2007 19:35

yup, they are still online and cashing in on our work; and we did not have the hotlink disabled, that .TW forum too. Only a matter of time until they host the pics elsewhere and ripp off too

Sidney 24th July 2007 19:44

The .tw forum members noticed the "Thou shall not steal"; perhaps windwithme could jump in for us.

jmke 24th July 2007 19:48

it's a dead thread, 7/7/2007, no need to put effort in that;) people who see it will find the stolen pics, and see the link posted by one member, that's how it ended up in referrer list;)

these guys on the other hand keep on trucking, stealing content http://www.parkoz.com/zboard/view.ph...=asc&no =3589

Sidney 24th July 2007 20:02

The one you mentioned is from Korea. The land of Samsung and LG. I'd write them and ask them kindly to stop.

Try this http://www.korea.net/Community/Forum/news_Forum.asp, I am pretty sure there is censorship and being watched because of the north.

tontan 26th June 2008 12:47

So sad,I don't speak chinese but you can search on the internet on translation.
Many are free so try it on dude.:)

jmke 26th June 2008 12:50

so sad that the only reason you post is to be able to spam some links :)

The Senile Doctor 26th June 2008 12:55

weird!

jmke 8th July 2008 22:01

S.Korea and China visitors are currently blocked from visiting the site. in 365 days there were ~10k visits from them. We get 10k visits/day from other countries. No big loss and it prevents our content from being blatantly stolen
