Accoustically designed also could mean nicely blanketed with lots of tiny air pockets to reduce the bouncing sound waves as to trapping air to a well made blanket.

So eager to find out the well balance of dampening sound and air ventilation can be achieved. Can they be good couples and remain married? ; )

We shall see.

One silent Aopen HQ45 multimedia system transferred to the Acousticase. Thanks to the 120mm in the front (and also possible in the back) it reduces noise a lot while still keeping enough airflow throughout the inside

the extra padding makes the already heavy metal case, even heavier, but it removes all vibration, I can't hear my HDD spin.

previous silent system in the HQ45 did the following temp-wise:

P4 1.8@2.26 - default intel cooler
Asus P4PE
Radeon 8500AIW DV
2x DVD/CDR drive
1x WD HDD

in an Aopen HQ45 with 1x92mm blowhole in sidepanel where an Acoustifan provides fresh air at low noise level, temp sensor of the fan placed in fins of Northbridge.

F@H stressed -->

Room temp: 24C
Case temp: 44C
CPU temp: 61C

the system is relatively silent, but when you sit in front of it you can hear the HDD and CPU fan noise quite clearly. When moving away 2-5m the system is almost unhearable.

I moved all these components into the Acousticase.. expect final report somewhere this week!

Stick CV in and see what the temps turn out; curious to know.

the case does not come with a PSU, I filled the case with all the components which were in the "old" system, this includes the chieftec PSU

You may have to trim the front (facing the HDD) CV to make room for the HDD's. I have to do the same with Lian-Li case.
