The WLX-5000 Wi-Fi Range Extender Dual-band N600 simultaneously increases the range of the 2,4 GHz and 5 GHz network for wireless internet anywhere in and around the house without interference.

Rotterdam (The Netherlands), November 2013 - Sitecom introduces the WLX-5000 Wi-Fi Range Extender Dual-band N600 which not only extends the range of the 2,4 GHz network but also, in combination with a Dual-band router, extends the range of the 5 GHz network. The WLX-5000 provides wireless speeds up to 300 Mbps on both networks. The 2,4 GHz frequency can be used for online browsing and the cleaner 5 GHz frequency for HD streaming and online gaming. "Today's users have an ever-growing number of network devices in their homes and want good wireless access everywhere in and around the house. No internet in the attic is no longer accepted. Speed
The Range Extender uses 802.11n wireless technology and supports transfer rates up to 300 Mbps in the 2,4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency ranges. The less congested 5 GHz frequency provides uninterrupted Wi-Fi performance for connected devices such as smartphones, tablets and notebooks that support this frequency and is ideal for entertainment devices such as Smart TVs and game consoles.

Easy to use
Installation is completed in an instant, with no need for a CD or network cable. The Range Extender is equipped with an OPS button for each Wi-Fi frequency so the user can easily connect to the 2,4 GHz or 5 GHz network at the touch of a button. If the user does not have a router or modem router with OPS functionality, a connection can be made through the installation wizard that is accessible via an online interface. The LED indicators show the real-time status of the network connection and assist with finding the best location for the Range Extender to achieve optimal coverage without interference.


Compatibility
The Sitecom Range Extender works with Single- and Dual-band Wi-Fi routers and the hardware from internet service providers. The Range Extender is also backwards compatible with the older 802.11b and 802.11g wireless technologies. The Range Extender supports all existing security standards (64/128-bit WEP, WPA and WPA2), thus ensuring compatibility with the existing router or modem router.
