Default New Tesla Competitor Entering the EV Market

Former executives from BMW and Nissan have formed a new company called Future Mobility Corporation and are going to build a Tesla competitor under the Byton brand. The plan is to build an SUV that will arrive in Q4 2019 and then follow-up with a sedan and seven-seater after that. The base model will cost about $45K and have a range of 250 miles and the next model up will have a 325 mile range at a higher cost. Considering who is starting this firm I have a good feeling that we'll actually see something come to market. Go competition! All this is stuff is there to support Byton's focus on delivering a "digital lounge" experience in the car, which is topped off by front seats that can rotate all the way around to face the rear passengers. The car will even sport a built-in facial recognition system that allows the car to automatically adjust the settings to suit every occupant, not just the driver.
