Leadtek Expands into Desktop Virtualization Market with its VMware Ready™ Certified PC-over-IP® Solution

Leadtek Research Inc., known globally for extreme visual graphics technology development, is pleased to announce its newest virtual desktop certifications and solutions, strengthening its strategic partnership with VMware®.

The WinFast VP200 P is Desktop Portal (client) is now VMware View 3 certified to offer a superior user experience and maximum Return On Investment (ROI) to enterprises deploying virtualized desktops with VMware View™. This certification indicates that VP200 P has passed the VMware Hardware Certification Program testing for use with VMware View 3 and is included on the VMware Hardware Compatibility Guide, ensuring Leadtek’s customers enjoy the best VMware View experience.

This certification strengthens the VMware and Leadtek relationship and signifies the importance of integrating VMware’s technologies to maximize the benefits of virtualized desktops for customers. Leadtek is thrilled to put VMware Ready™ Certified logo on WinFast VP200 P to help customers identify trusted, production-ready solutions. This combined solution will help enable centralized management, increased security and reduced TCO.

WinFast VP200 P offers complete support for the PC-over-IP® (PCoIP®) protocol, which is fast becoming a core remoting protocol, just as Citrix ICA/HDX and Microsoft RDP are today. In partnership with Teradici, Leadtek is introducing the WinFast VP200 P workstation-class zero client, with PCoIP support in hardware. This portal device supports even the most demanding rich-media, high-resolution applications including those usually beyond the reach of a remote computing solutions, such as 3D CAD/CAM, video editing, digital content creation (DCC), geographic information systems, and advanced scientific applications.

IT managers can now realize the benefits of truly flexible and secure consolidated computing for any user type - from mainstream office workers to rich 3D graphics for engineers and illustrators. The client has no local operating system (no Windows or Linux) ,and no device drivers, so it's simpler to deploy, requires no local antivirus protection, and seldom needs management. And because the device has no local storage, it is completely secure and virus-proof. Usersl receive a true PC experience with a device the size of a book and consuming less than 15 watts of power.

“We are excited with the announcement of Leadtek’s WinFast VP200P as VMware Ready certified,” said Dan Cordingley, President & CEO of Teradici Corporation. “The extensive testing for VMware Ready Certification ensures hardware compatibility in VMware environments and provide customers with an optimal VDI solution.”
"As organizations think about their virtualization strategies from the datacenter to the desktop, they want to partner with a trusted IT adviser to help them design, deploy and implement the right solution. A comprehensive datacenter solution combining WinFast VP200 P and VMware View gives our customers an easy-to-deploy virtualization solution that provides outstanding flexibility, efficiency, security and reliability for managing end-to-end, from the desktops to the datacenter. And when coupled with Leadtek services specifically designed to help companies with the virtualization process, Leadtek is clearly the vendor of choice for companies interested in proven virtualization products and strategies." said KS Lu, CEO at Leadtek
