Default LCD panel prices are headed down

Prices for LCD monitor panels have already dropped below cash cost levels and are estimated to drop even more in December by 6-9%, as LCD monitors already have a high market penetration rate and demand for desktops has been squeezed by notebooks, the sources explained.

Panel prices for mainstream size notebooks are expected to see an 8% drop in December. The 37-inch segment is expected to see the largest price drop of 10% of all TV applications for the month, compared to 6-9% declines for other TV panel segments, the sources noted.
