We’ve reported here that Lynnfield quad core 45nm cheaper Nehalem generation CPU will finally get an official support fot DDR3 1333. Nehalem generation, lead by Bloomfield based Core i7 CPU are limited to DDR3 1066 official support.
Official support doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to reach DDR3 1333, 1600 or even 2000+ speeds, but as far as Intel is concerned, these speeds are not officially supported by Intel, so in case you cannot reach them, Intel doesn’t need to replace your CPU or board.
