| Geforce go7900GS to go7900GTX BIOS Mod Now that the overclocking of the i9400 and go7900GS has been sorted, it was time to try other things. Some guys over at NotebookForums then BIOS flashed the go7900GTX BIOS into their go7900GS video cards. This actually made for a fully working machine. Once done it was noted that the memory speeds were able to be increased over what the maximum the go7900GS allowed in it's BIOS. My go7900GS has a 600Mhz (1200Mhz DDR) limit before artifacting would be seen. After the go7900GTX BIOS flash mod, the memory is now clockable to 1750Mhz, this is a HUGE increase and with only a BIOS mod. So the stock i9400 go7900GS comes with 507Mhz RAM and now I can run without artifacting 875Mhz. Thats close to 75% increase in speed. It does how ever look like the GTX BIOS mod means the memory has more latency but the overall higher speed means faster benchmarks. Some have broken 10k in 3DMark 2k5, this is giving the actual go7900GTX a run for it's money.
