| EVGA GeForce 6800 GS The deal is fantastic no doubt, and the excitement over this card is huge, but we can't help but feel a smidgen of disappointment without even running the card. Given, we've become desensitized to these trademark gargantuan leaps that Nvidia is known for making, but we still feel a bit let down. The 6600 GT last year gave the fresh off the press GeForce 6 architecture the $199.99 treatment offering Shader Model 3.0 and far better image quality than Nvidia users had been accustomed to. Not only that, but it completely pummeled what had cost nearly $500 just 6 months before. While we are dealing with incredible feats of rapid technological advancement, and despite the fact that the 6800 GS is an amazing card really, the hype meter would have shot through the roof if not for a few things.
