| intel core 2 duo Hey guys Im new here but need some help on the right cpu for my system. Specs CPU: p4 3.4 VGA: Gigabyte x1600 (waiting for dx 10 to get new card) RAM: Corsair 2gb 6400 dual chanel MOBO: Gigabyte Ga-965p-s3 Heatsink: Thermaltake Big Typhoon XV I was wanting to know if it is worth spending the extra $150 to go from the 6300 too the 6600? and what overclocking feature can i expect out of both? "Thats in AUS dollars by the way" Thanks guys. |

| I would go with neither; check for E6420 or E2160 (for really tight budget); the E6420 has 4mb cache like the E6400, but is cheaper and the extra cache does help, on average +10%. OC wise, the E2160 is pretty sweet, a high multiplier and low stock FSB allow you to push the CPU to the limit even with modest OC motherboards; best bang for the buck; if you don't want to OC that much, E6420 will be nice I have an E6400 running at 2.8Ghz and it's too fast in most games no difference when I clock down to 2.4ghz

| yeah it does support 1333mhz, i am looking at trying to keep it under 300AUD |
