Looking for WC parts. I'm designing a new case for myself from the ground up. However I'm still looking for certail parts: - a radiator, something like a BIX 2, but thinner. The BIX is 44mm thick, and I'd like something a bit less if possible. - Waterblocks with 90° elbow fittings. I have very little space in this setup, so I can't use ordinairy fittings. Is it possible to mod a dangerden or simmilar with new fittings? That's it for now. I'll keep you updated. |
modding an RBX with 90°C fittings will impact the performance a LOT as this block performs best when water can enter at high speeds onto the center of the block. maybe check out this very compact swiftech block http://www.madshrimps.be/forums/show...&threadid=4880 |
height is the problem, so I NEED those 90° fittings. The swiftech block with angled fittings might do, but this one will definitly NOT. I wasn't thinking about an RBX, but more in the line of older dangerden models. For an idea, I have about 4-5CM above the socket before I hit the PSU. If I move the PSU up, the case will get too wide or my liking. Unless someone knows a GOOD, SILENT and fairly priced slim PSU. It's not really a high pref cooling. It just has to keep my system cool like my zalman CNPS 7000 is doing now. But in less space and less noise. |
CNPS7000 @ low noise is as silent as it gets, pump + 120mm @ low speed will equal noise :) take a look at this review of a DD maze versus other wb blocks http://www.procooling.com/reviews/ht...iew_-_4_11.php |
it's running full speed now, and it's huge on the CPU. Some low speed 120mm on a big rad should do the trick. I'm mainly looking to reduce my PC in size for LAN parties, without going to shuttle systems. |
what happens when you run it @ low speeds? PC crash? at what temps? any case fans? |
a black ice micro 2 is about 45 mm thick and works with 80 mm fans and a black ice pro is about 25 mm thick but works with 120 mm fans |
i have 10* 1/2" fittings lying around here that have a 90° angle (1/4 wire diameter) they are made of blue plastic though if you are interested, i payed them 3euro /piece and never used them (better JMke? :p ) |
e*n*g*l*i*s*h please =) edit: thank you :super: |

the 90° corners only add some resistance and the water enters the block as usual. or not? |
