EK-SupremeEK Waterblocks founded by König Edvard ( aka Eddie ) has always satisfied the desires of many water-cooling enthusiasts with high performance and cool looking designs. For more info on the company and products have a look at the
EK websiteHere's what the website tells us about the Supreme block :
The EK-Supreme water block for CPU's has been designed for the hardest enthusiast user. The base plate is made of electrolytic copper lapped and polished to +/- 0,0007 mm flatness. The top is made of quality POM Acetal or Plexi. The EK-Wave cooling engine uses fine design. The water accelerates through thin jet plate channels through 49 very thin channels, which gives extreme cooling surface. The copper base is also very thin, which gives very short distance for temperature to transfer from CPU to water. EK water blocks recommend 1/2” (12mm) ID tubing or 3/8” (10mm) ID tubing.
Here are the two versions: Acetal and Plexi side by side :
As always, pictures tell more than a thousand words :
EK using a micro design for the cooling surface and a pressure plate to extra force the waterflow.
The Base is extremely flat and before the testing was as shiny as could be. I opted to test the blocks straight out of the box and then go for the dissembling and photo shoots. So don't worry if some base shots are a not in pristine state.
For the mounting EK still uses the old school method : No back plate and a simple screw/spring/nut design
