Conclusion

Conclusion :

I really liked this case. It had everything I needed: pre-installed side window, top blowhole, 2 fans in the front, 2 in the back, and 2 in the side. The rheobus came in very handy to control these fans. It had 4 connectors with which you can easily connect the necessary fans. You can set an alarm temperature that goes off when you reach a certain temperature. On the top of the case next to the blowhole you have some sound and USB connectors which are very easy if you want to connect your headphones or your digital camera. What I regret is that there was no removable motherboard tray. This is very easy to install your motherboard, but here with this case you have enough place to work. Strange thing is that there was no manual included in the package (maybe they forgot to add one in my box), this is not really a problem since all over the case there are little stickers with some explanations on it.

What I didn't like was the way you had to secure your PCI and AGP cards. If your card is a bit longer then the PCI slot, it won't fit. You can remove the fast secure mechanism and do it the old fashioned way but this makes things more complicated again. The fast Retention mechanism is not good if you have a video card with a Zalman passive heat sink, the mechanism is not strong enough to fasten this and the card risks falling out.

The hard disk tray was a good idea, easy access to your disks but not if you use pre-rounded cables. The cable will block your side panel in a way that you can’t close it anymore, also your cable will just fit. I tried with a normal ribbon cable, but mine was just a couple of centimetres too short.

Installing CD drives and hard drives was easy with the included rails.

This is a really good case, enough ventilation. Made out of aluminium, Rheobus,Side window. A lot of fans. A cool glowing Thermaltake logo. I recommend this case to anyone who is looking for a new case, but take in mind that there are a few minor (really minor problems).

Positive:
7 fans
4 channel Rheobus
Side Window
Made out of aluminium
Easy to fasten CD and hard drive
Dust filters on intake fans
Fire wire / USB /Sound jacks at top of case

Negative:
Contra Points No Removable Motherboard tray (this is a personal feeling)
Contra Points No manual
Contra Points Hard Drive cage is place a little bit weird
Contra Points Fast Retention Mechanism for PCI can have some problems with certain cards.

I would like to thank the people from Eurosys again for providing us with this case.
