CoolerMaster Aero7 vs X-Dream SE

Cooling/CPU Cooling by jmke @ 2003-05-06

Coolermaster Aero7 (Aero 7) tested and compared to the X-Dream SE. To finish it of we slap on a 80mm Delta and see how this baby performs compared to the SLK800/900 and the older Alpha PAL8045 and Swiftech 462-A!

Today I'll be comparing CoolerMaster's Aero7 to the X-Dream SE. Both share the same heat sink design, so it will come down to which fan performs best.

To start things of I would like to thank the people who made this review possible:
  • The Aero 7 was shipped to us straight from CoolerMaster in Hong Kong by Toney Lam
  • The X-Dream SE sample was provided by Colorcase.be

Let's find out what is different about these 2 AMD cooling solutions

First thing you will notice is the huge weird shaped fan that is placed on top. This blower style of cooling-fan provides a reasonable amount of airflow while keeping the sound level quite low.
The blower provides air to the whole cooler unlike radial fans. Even a TMD fan which has no motor in the middle can't compete with this setup.

The used plastic has medium transparency and a neutral color

The fins of the blower are of high quality and they come with a very accurate finishing
