Sparkle 8800GTS 512MB Review: G92 Madness Continues

Videocards/VGA Reviews by geoffrey @ 2008-01-28

The G92 based Geforce 8800GT was a very exciting product, unfortunately NVIDIA was short of supply and lower priced ATI HD3850 & HD3870 gained a lot of popularity this way. The higher-end market still remained untouched; to fill up this gap NVIDIA came up with a second wave of 8800GTS video cards. With the GT in mind, could we be dealing with yet another great NVIDIA product? We find out.

Unreal Tournament 2007

Unreal Tournament 2007
Official website

After the original Unreal Tournament 99, the successors 2003 and 2004 they are now back to a smaller number, Unreal Tournament 3 or UT3 for short is based on… the Unreal 3 engine and sports high resolutions textures, models, maps, driving a fast paced Death Match orientated game, with vehicle based CTF and other game play modes.

In our 5 minutes deathmatch session against 10 AI controlled bots we tried to properly stress our selected videocards, in return we got very good gaming performance with every card we tested while the image quality was maxed out. The frame rate is locked through the game engine and with our resolution maxed out we did not notice any difference from using the 8800GT, 8800GTS 512MB, or the lower-end ATI HD3870 which again provides an excellent price/performance ratio. Higher AA settings might help the 8800 GTS 512MB to come out better, but in real life you won't get that much of a graphic quality improvement.

Some rather minor improvements, let's take control our self and see how far we could overclock this video card ->
