MSI My Guard Live!

MSI’s My Guard Live!

All three webcams tested today include the software “My Guard Live!” which allows you to monitor the webcam image for movement, and when the threshold is surpassed will take action, recording a movie clip and notifying you by email.

You can configure up to 5 areas of different sizes to monitor, like doors and windows or any area you which to monitor.

The main program menu displays a live feed of the webcam so you can correctly configure it.

Let’s quickly run-down the different configuration possibilities:

Sensitivity Setting takes care of how quickly movement triggers the Alarm, you can choose between 3 settings here.

Madshrimps (c)The mail icon gives you the possibility to configure an email account to send out pictures and videos as soon as movement is detected

Madshrimps (c)The Alarm settings window configures what actions need to be taken when movement is detected, play a sound, take a photo and/or video, define an interval and optionally send the data out.

Madshrimps (c)Remote connect allows you log in to your “My Guard Live!” program from another computer, if you PC is hooked up the internet you can even connect from outside and take a look at what’s going on at home.

Madshrimps (c)A quick way to see if the webcam works is to hit the button, the program will start recording a movie until you press the button again. The video is saved under the location you configured at the “alarm settings” menu.
Madshrimps (c)This button called “Start Detect” will set the wheels in motion, when you hit this button the system will activate and start monitoring the areas you defined, if movement is detected it will take the actions you want
