External hard drive enclosure finds its market in the last couple of years due to the ease of installation and use when people exhaust the system hard drive capacity from their photo and music collections. Today, we take a look at two of the enclosure from Eagle Tech, the Consus T and M Series.

Installation M-Series

Installation - Consus M-Series

The particular model is for SATA hard-drive only. You will find the installation easier than the previous despite the number of photos you are seeing.

The so called "key" is nothing but a mini pointed "pick" to push down the lock pin spring that holds the "door" in placed.

Here is a closer look at SATA drive connection. All you need to do is to know the orientation of the connections; align to the same orientation inside the enclosure by looking inside with the door opened.

Slide the hard drive in. Close the door; make sure it is locked. There is no tool required. When the door is unlocked and opened; the lever action of the hinged floor plate will push/eject the hard drive out disconnecting itself from the connectors inside for ease of removal.

The backend is similar to the T-series with the same power cable and USB connection; here you see the extra eSATA connection for this model.

Both T & M series use the same model power supply with 110/240 AC input.
