DFI launches their Intel 965 based motherboard, their DARK series promises high overclocking potential at bargain price, can it deliver? Let´s find out

The lower left side of the board features two PCIe x16 slots and supports Crossfire mode (x16 + x4). Then we have 2 x1 PCIe slots and two traditional PCI.

The southbridge used is an ICH8R, supports up to 6 SATA2 drives and RAID 0,1,0+1,5. You also find a power and reset button on the motherboard.

In the upper left corner there are 4 DIMMS for DDR2, the 24-pin and 8-pin power connectors and a single IDE port.

Around the CPU area there is a lot room to install even the largest of CPU coolers; we also see a 4-phase digital PWM.

The I/O has everything needed nowadays: 8 Channel (7.1) Surround Sound, 4x USB 2.0, Firewire, Optical/SPDIF sound out, PS/2 connections for mouse/keyboard, COM and LPT port
