Naked 830 EvoWithout the side panels and motherboard tray the 830 Evo looks quite empty, but does show you how much room you have to work inside; the bottom features a cut-out with metal grill to bring fresh air to the GPU area (in case of an ATX system setup). Rubber feet help isolate vibration.
At the top of the case you can see the
collection of I/O cables coming down which need to be hooked up to the motherboard.
The black plastic area above those cables is in fact another 120mm fan holder, it can fit an out-take fan, or you can install the special WD Raptor X drive cage, I couldn’t get my hands on one Raptor X unfortunately, so with a normal HDD installed in that area it looks like this:
An older Maxtor 120Gb HDD was used, the 4 Leds slide into holes at each corner of the bracket, they are powered through a 4-pin molex cable.Power Supply InstallationBring out your screwdriver; PSU installation is one of the other few areas beside HDD installation that requires tools. After removing a small plate:
You can slide in your PSU with room to spare; the 830 Evo is a very long case and will accommodate even the largest power supplies.
It’s time to put the puzzle back together ->
still, it's a lil' steep in price & i wouldn't really like dragging it to LANs (regardles of the wheels).
