So, what´s in the box? Only five things and a manual. These five things were in a small plastic package. No shiny box, no fancy pictures. Just plain plastic *snif*
1. The Cooler
This nifty device is actualy a simple aluminium heatsink with an Y.S. Tech 60mm fan on it rated at 12V~3,8w. Notice the 3,8w and not 0,8w. You might guess: this cooler can be an airplane when feeded enough amps. Under the heatsink we find two peltiers, presumably 40w each. Nowhere on the
ActiveCool site they state the wattage of the peltiers but they do say that in full conditions there is drawn 72w of power from the outlet. Since the currency must be converted from AC to DC, which brings some power loss I think the peltiers are 40w each. But it´s a guess, don´t count on it :)
Under the peltiers we find an aluminium coldplate to keep everyting nice and tidy in it"s place.
2. The PCI card
This is the heart of the whole system. It provides power to the peltiers, regulates the CPU fan & case fan and creates a fake RPM signal. the fake signal is needed as the cpu fan @ 6v is very slow, and some systems might halt when such low RPM is detected. You can see the power outled on the next picture. There is also a small fan mounted in the PCI card, because it can get very hot in there (AC to DC coversion, several powerfull transistors each with ther own heatsink)
3. Some clips for the heatsink (two of them)
4. A power cord for the PCI slot.
