On the outside I did not find any condensation
And on the inside none was found either
I did find some ICE near the AGP slot; it’s quite hard to sufficiently keep that location well insulated…
Now how does the CPU and motherboard look after being cooled by Dry Ice during
9 hours none-stop?Little bit of “sweat” formed at the backside, this is because no armaflex was put there but the foam did its job good enough.
In the photos below you’ll have to look hard to find any condensation formed on the hardware used, the insulation was superb :-)
Let’s wrap things upThis day was a real success , no hardware was damaged we (me, kristos and Colin) had some great fun, and at the end of the day we got a 23 seconds SuperPi 1Mb and 105k Aquamark03 score to show for.
During testing temperatures fluctuated ~1°C with the base of the containers running most of the time at -60°C and colder. Keeping it all well insulated was maybe the biggest challenge of all.
I’d like to thank kristos for letting me use his X800 and Colin for lending me his system for this Dry Ice run. And last but not least, I’d like to thank you for reading this article and hope you enjoyed it!
Over and out and have a good smoking drink!
