Introduction Silent Box SBX-1000Today we take a look at a retail solution from Scythe to silence your hard drive. It should be considered as a last resort after you have swapped other noise makers from your system like the VGA/CPU fan/heatsink, and the power supply.
The “Silent Box”, as Scythe has aptly named it, is basically a large rubber box the size of a CD/DVD drive. The internals are filled up with foam pads cut to make place for a 3.5” hard drive. Let’s check out the specifications.

Extra power connectors are included also for SATA and PATA drives, this makes installation inside the case easier.
The manual is plain and simple with clear pictures and instruction, almost perfect, notice that I said, *almost*.
