The world has moved on, as they say. If you have an AMD setup and you want new low latency memory you have to start searching.. hard. The once widely available BH-5 which claimed the top spot in many overclockers’ wish lists, is no more. In search for the next best thing we have here today a variety of memory modules which were send to us for review.

This first part will consist of finding the highest Mhz and best timings these stick can do on an AMD setup. In part two we’ll go over to the other side and see how they fair on an Intel rig.

What do we have in the test labs for you today:

  • GeIL Golden Dragon PC3200 1GB kit
  • GeIL Golden Dragon PC3700 1GB kit
  • GeIL Ultra Platinum PC3500 1GB kit
  • Mushkin PC3200 Blue 1GB kit
  • TwinMOS PC3200 with M-Tec 50B chips 1GB kit
  • OCZ EL PC3700 Gold Rev.2 512Mb kit

It’s a mixed bag of speeds and prices, the Mushkin Blue and TwinMOS stick out as the “budget” parts in this roundup.

Let’s take a closer look at the GeIL and Mushkin memory sets before I present you with my findings,
