CHERRY MW8 Advanced Wireless Mouse Review

Others/Mice & Keyboards by stefan @ 2019-02-01

The MW8 Advanced mouse is a good choice to be picked up while on trips along with your favorite laptop thanks to its long lasting battery and premium build. If you have all USB ports occupied, you can always use the product on wireless since all laptops now do incorporate BT interfaces as well. Compared to the previously tested CHERRY mice, this one houses a much better PixArt sensor that is able to track on all surfaces, including glass and its DPI can be adjusted in four different steps, in order to cover more usage environments: 600, 1000, 1600 and 3200 DPI.

Packaging, A Closer Look

While the last mice we have reviewed from CHERRY did come with a rather plain design, the MW8 ADVANCED is a notable step-up with a metallic top cover, dual wireless interface and PixArt sensor with adjustable resolution up to 3200 DPI so we can use it with bigger screen resolutions as well.

The product is shipped inside a small cardboard enclosure, with the usual CHERRY box art:

A side view can be also seen on the packaging:

The manufacturer has listed the main product highlights on the back of the box, together with the inside contents, but also the supported OSes:

We are getting the main product, that is protected inside a carry pouch, the Quick Start Guide but also the USB charging cable:

Inside the manual, the user can read the connection procedure via Bluetooth and Wireless, the necessary steps in order to adjust the DPI, but also how to charge the mouse:

By incorporating the top brushed aluminum shell, MW8 Advanced comes with a premium look:

The shell is split in two and comes with a CHERRY logo in the middle:
